Establishment of the Cell:
The Counselling Cell of the college was established in October 2009, with an aim to benefit the students with mental and other life problems.

Keeping in mind the overall profile of the students (ageing 18-22 years) commuting from both urban and rural areas, the cell and its professionally skilled counsellors continuously try to maintain a holistic communication pattern with these adolescent girl students.

  • Increased trend of anxiety and depression among youth presently reflect an extensive need to improve inter-personal and intra-personal communication.

Some Instances of Students' Translations:
  • "A workshop on Stress Management was held in our college on 4th May, 2011. Undoubtedly, stress is a part of our daily life and through the workshop this idea was more deeply established. There are times when I myself experience some symptoms of stress which are usually found. But I used to think that these symptoms are not right and can lead me to go abnormal. But, through this workshop, I came to know that, these symptoms are not abnormal and found in most of the people now a days. The work shop also led to a more detailed and informal discussion amongst us. Now, after experiencing the interactive session of the workshop, I have developed this belief that, stress is a common phenomenon that comes with today's fast life and got an exposure about how to deal with problems related to stress".

  • "Khub bhalo lagchchey, nijer madhye ekta change anubhav korte parchchiy. An individual always feels happy to put forward his or her needs and demands in front of elders, youngers and same aged people. But many a times there remains a confusion whether we ourselves are capable to fulfill others' demands and expectations. Through the course I have learned to realize my demands better than before and to understand others' expectations in a more realistic way and I think that this capacity also increases more and more we get to interact during counselling experience. It also helps to create effective and transparent communication in group exposure and to be in a group is better than remaining single".
